Soulbrain Co., Ltd. places energy and greenhouse gas reduction that contributes to the global environment as the core value of its management and will do its best in continuous energy and greenhouse gas management activities by establishing the following policies.

ESG management commitment
Based on the ESG management commitment of the CEO, we will actively promote ESG management and become an ESG-leading company in the same industry.

Compliance with laws and regulations
We will comply with environmental and energy laws and international agreements in all management activities and establish and implement stronger internal standards.

Climate crisis response and carbon neutrality
We will recognize the severity of the climate crisis and actively respond through greenhouse gas reduction, energy efficiency, etc., to achieve mid- to long-term carbon neutrality.

We will establish a global-level management system and establish and manage energy and greenhouse gas reduction goals in all business areas.

Greenhouse Gas Reduction

In order to systematically and preemptively respond to the climate crisis, Soulbrain has established a short-term, mid- to long-term roadmap and implementation strategy aiming for ‘Greener Soulbrain to 2050 Net-Zero’ in accordance with the SBTi WB2C pathway.
Starting with managing Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions at Soulbrain’s Gongju and Paju plants, we will do our best to practice green management by joining the international trend toward carbon neutrality.

Operation of the Energy Council

Soulbrain has formed its own energy council with key personnel from each department. In addition to energy reduction activities in each department, department personnel will freely share reduction cases from each department and exchange opinions through monthly meetings.

Educational Activities

Soulbrain acquired ISO 50001 (Energy Management System) certification in 2020 to secure competitiveness in energy management, which is essential to increase energy efficiency and prevent greenhouse gas emissions.
This year, in order to improve the understanding and capacity of ESG greenhouse gas and energy management personnel in energy management, we will conduct energy management system practical and internal auditor training to increase the number of auditors who have completed the qualification, reduce energy consumption, and ensure that actual greenhouse gas reduction activities are carried out smoothly. We will do our best to achieve the reduction goal.
In addition, to strengthen internal awareness, we will expand the education curriculum and continuously strengthen the energy policies and goals of all business sites in various ways to spread the importance of energy efficiency and take the lead in energy management.

Energy Optimization

Soulbrain has established an energy monitoring system in all factories for efficient energy use and is currently reexamining and optimizing key operating conditions such as pipe head, flow rate, and pump rotation frequency to reduce energy and greenhouse gases.
We have selected the elimination of waste elements as a key task for reducing energy and greenhouse gases in 2023 and are continuing reduction activities.
We are laying the foundation for Net-Zero by starting with the work of improving waste air leak points throughout the factory by purchasing ultrasonic sound measurement cameras and finding waste heat.
